Temporary closure of the gallery throughout 2026
HRD Fine Art celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2025 since the opening of its permanent gallery space in Kuramaguchi, Kyoto.

With an adjective "experimental" hovering overhead, the gallery has always been practicing trial and error. And with the help from many various people, we have been able to maintain the gallery operation for as long as ten years. Let me take this opportunity to express heartfelt gratitude to the great support.

As we have already announced through blog entries and social media channels, our gallery will suspend its exhibition programs for a year in 2026, before venturing into a new chapter after its 10th anniversary. This one year period will be spent for reflection on the past activities and preparation for the next phase of the gallery. For those who, thankfully, always look forward to our exhibition in the gallery, this announcement may come as a disappointment, but we would appreciate your understanding.

Although exhibitions will not take place in the gallery space, we will continue organizing exhibitions at outside venues, selling artworks, and providing consultation services to artists and collectors. In addition, the gallery space in Kuramaguchi, Kyoto will not close its door: on the contrary, we intend to make it more "open," under the temporary name of "HRDQ," where "Q" doubles as "Kyu," which means "pause" in Japanese.
We have not come up with concrete plans for programs yet, but we will prepare ourselves to host talk sessions, lectures, classes, workshops, flea market, cafe, concerts, and other various events.

Please contact us if you have collaboration ideas, requests, and proposals through emails and social messages.

We look forward to meeting you again soon through "HRDQ" programs as well as through various initiatives by HRD Fine Art.
