Introduction
HRD Fine Art of Kyoto, Japan and Space O'NewWall of Seoul, Korea jointly organize and co-curate an international collaborative contemporary art exhibition titled "Paradise: Lost & Found" at Studio Kan in Kyoto, opening on Sunday, November 8.
Exhibiting artists are Haejun Jo, Dayee, Changjin Lee, Miyeon Lee, Sungwan Park from Korea and Toshiyuki Nanjo, Bussan Sawamura, Kaori Tanaka from Japan.
The title of the exhibition, "Paradise: Lost & Found," is obviously a pun on words that combines "Paradise Lost" and "Lost & Found." It suggests an age of search for connection which we live in, with the past and the future disrupted by rapid, outrageous changes due to technological advancement represented by AI and cyber society. Looking at the recent developments, we have not been able to solve many age-old problems in human society despite all technological progresses, and the history is surely repeating itself. "Paradise: Lost & Found" points to the shared attitude and thinking of the contemporary artists who seek to cast a persistent gaze into the past and the present, thereby carefully and affectionately finding and scooping up humanity, which seems to be lost in the futuristic reality.
