HRD FINE ART

Introduction

HRD FINE ART is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of Japanese photographic artist Toshiyuki Nanjo as an inaugural exhibition of our new gallery in Kyoto.
This exhibition showcases the artist's recent works from the series titled "suns," in which he captures the sunlight reflected on water surface with long exposure time.

What we see in his work is either the surface of water that constantly changes its shape, the traces of the sun reflected on the water, or the flowing time fixated through the photographing process. A naked human eye can never see such an imagery, which only photographs can present before our eye, and therefore the essence of the human vision and the act of seeing are highlighted through Nanjo's oeuvre.
