Online talk & remote Othello game session
As part of the program related to Ayako Kurihara's solo show " I Am Here, There and Everywhere: Mind Games 2020," we will host an online talk/live-painting event, titled "Art, Coronavirus, and Future: Osaka-Seoul-Yokohama," interconnecting Osaka, Seoul, and Yokohama via the Internet on Sunday, November 15th, 2020.
Kurihara's studio in Yokohama, HRD Fine Artfs director Akikazu Harada's home office in Osaka, and Space O'NewWall, HRD's collaborative partner gallery, in Seoul, will be connected using Zoom web-conference. Harada and Juno Seo, director of Space O'NewWall, will discuss the current situation surrounding art in Korea and Japan amid COVID-19 pandemic, as well as future prospects and plans.
At the same time with the talk session, two children - sons of the two gallery directors - will play the game of Othello using Zoom. Then the artist Kurihara creates an Othello-painting in her studio based on the progress of the game played between the two kids.
One new piece of "artwork" will be created as a result of this multi-layered, "remote" collaboration, examining the current situation and looking ahead into the future after COVID-19, while imagining the shape of the next generation international friendship.
Talk session and live-painting performance will be broadcast online via Facebook Live on HRD Fine Art's page. |
